Stop-Frame Animators

In ICT the children have been busy getting to grips with the technicalities of ‘animation’. We looked at how animators create lots and lots of frames with minor changes, and had a go at creating our own animations using the ‘onion-skinning’ technique. The past few weeks we’ve focused on ‘stop-frame animation’. The children have been busy creating their own stop frame animations using lego. Watch this space for their creations, which will be coming soon!

Ventnor History Walk

Year 4 walked their legs off today. As part of our theme work we’ve been looking at the local town of Ventnor, it’s history and it’s geography. The children trekked up the downs to visit what remains of the old Radar Base and pillboxes, before heading down through the valley past the old railway station and through town to the beach. It was perfect weather for walking and the children did really well to walk such a big distance up and down hills. We shall be doing lots more work back at school, about some of the historic things we passed along the way. Have a lovely bank holiday weekend.
